KNITTING ISSUES ? ? ?

If you are struggling with repeated knitting mistakes, stitch recognition and learning issues (any problem that takes more than 5-10 minutes of our normal business day), please consider taking a class with one of our knowledgeable staff members or a private lesson.

Class fees vary. (Beginning Knitting is very comprehensive with 4 sessions for $80), Technique Classes are usually less.
Private lessons are all about you
at $20/hour.


Green Valley will be hosting knitting for Hats and Scarves for Homeless Vets the1st and 5th Tuesday each month, evenings 5-7pm.

"The Knitting Doctor Is In"

Private Lessons – the time is all yours at the shop for $20/hour ($10/half hour) – must schedule.

Children/Young Adult Classes – Please let us know if you have a small group of 8-14 year olds that would like to learn to knit.

Private Instruction for Weaving with Dottie Weir
Private instruction is available for those who want to explore specific topics or projects and want private instructor assistance. Potential topics should be discussed with the instructor. Days, date and times must be arranged with the shop. Cost does not include materials fee. Cost is $20/hour.

“White Fibers” with Dottie Weir
Dye/Painting Skeins of Yarn for Knitting, Weaving and Crochet. This is an introduction class for knitters, weavers, crocheting or any fiber person wanting to create their own dyed yarns and begin to make a personal statement. “White Fibers” are the fiber artists’ canvas. This will be a five hour class. Day to be determined – please let us know if you are interested.





Uniquely Your Yarn - Color with Jan Seltman
Love designer yarns and hate the price? Do you have yarns in your stash that you love but don't have enough to make anything? In this class you will learn how to combine yarns to make your very own, one-of-a-kind yarns. Learn how to choose the "right" yarns to create different effects through color, texture, finish and size. This class consists of three sessions: Color and yarn selection, Creating your yarn for different effects; and a third session assist with the Completion of your unique sweater and discuss creativity. HOW can so much be offered in just one class?

Tiered Poncho with Judy Cross
This poncho was inspired by a friend who is a quilter. It is constructed of modules that are added as you go so there is minimal finishing work. Good project for beginners and a fun project for everyone!

Beginning Knitting with Carolyn Dondi
A series of classes designed to take you from being a non-knitter to a confident knitter. The class will include casting-on, increasing, decreasing, at least 4 pattern stitches, working to gauge size, casting off, reading a pattern and much more. September 9, 23, 30, October 7, Tuesdays 10a-Noon | $80



Toe-Up Socks with Yvonne Muise
Toe-Up, two at a time on one circular needle; sounds like a lot but once you have tried this, you will not want to knit socks any other way. Yvonne will walk you through each step.  Basic knitting skills required.

Spindle Spinning with Sharon Dalrymple
Come and discover a whole new "twist" to spinning! Suspended spindle spinning is very versatile whether you're learning the basics of spinning for the first time or you already spin on a wheel and just want a more portable method. In this class we will learn about fiber preparation, drafting, Z and S twists, plying and setting the twist in your new yarn. Bring a spindle (top whorl preferred).

One Room School House Tatting with Julie Anne Sprinkle
These (2) sessions can be for the beginner or the intermediate student. Julie Anne will teach basic ball and shuttle techniques and pattern reading skills to make simple edging, snowflakes and heart medallions. Tatting is a needlework art form that appeals to so many because of its beauty and versatility. The resource list and bibliography will lead you down the path to your own frivolity. If tatting is NOT new to you, Julie Anne will teach to your level as well.

Based on the book by Arne and Carlos; fair isle patterning with Scandinavian designs. As much fun to make as they are beautiful to decorate with.

Beginning Spinning with Sharon Dalrymple
Come create special hand spun yarns. These classes will include wheel operation and maintenance, fiber preparation, worsted and woolen spinning as well as two different plying techniques. You will also learn to operate a drum carder while using various fibers to create your own one of a kind roving. Practice is the key! [Supplies needed: a WORKING wheel, lazy kate, 3 bobbins, niddy noddy. (You may rent a wheel with the accessories for $30.00/month.) Fiber will be provided.]  November 7, 14 Fridays 1-4 pm | $60

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your place in class.
Full payment - two weeks prior to class; (we schedule the teacher, order supplies and reserve equipment). Registration fees are fully refundable only if you cancel two weeks prior to the beginning of class. Prepaid fees will be refunded if the shop cancels a class. Please check class supply lists for any pre work or supplies needed for the first class.
In consideration of our instructors and other students, we cannot accommodate infants and children while you are in class. Please make other arrangements for their care.
A 10% discount for class supplies applies to non-sale yarns and books.
